California Sauvignon Blanc continues to be an exciting category of wines from the Golden State. The wines are made in a variety of styles, but they’re typically intense, aromatic and juicy. This week’s Tasting Highlights showcases an exciting selection of examples from Northern California’s 2024 vintage, which is expected to become known for producing excellent quality wines.
At the top of the list are two examples from St. Supéry. They were among the first in Napa to really show the potential of Sauvignon Blanc. Dollarhide Ranch Vineyard, in the northeastern hills of Napa Valley, is a 1,530-acre property with more than 500 acres planted to vines. The wines made from this ranch are wonderfully intense, and the grapes are grown in a variety of different soil types among gently rolling knolls.
Also featured are the distinctive and stylish AXR Sauvignon Blanc Napa Valley 2024 and the harmonious Groth Sauvignon Blanc Napa Valley 2024. Read on to get all eight reviews of these Napa Valley Sauvignon Blancs.
